Do or Do Not.

I just realized that I graduated from high school seventeen years ago today.

I was seventeen the day I graduated.

So high school was over for me half my life ago.

Y’know, really I don’t feel old. I don’t. But thirty-four sure sounded so much older when I was seventeen.

Even worse than that particular realization, though: seventeen years from now my oldest daughter will be twenty.

I think I need to go do something either very adult or very juvenile.

How’s this for a milestone? My oldest turns 7 the DAY AFTER I turn 30 next year. I have a bad, bad feeling about my mood next February. I think I’ll be doing something very juvenile.

OK, I think that’s got me beat.

Though I have to say your turning 30 serves as one of those “damn-I’m-old” milestones–since I clearly remember the night of your twenty-first. :)

Oh, man. It’s been awhile since I thought of that night. You know what makes me feel old? David Rogers on his way to a Ph.D–that makes me feel ancient.

Well, here I am at 30 about to begin Ph.D work. Sheesh. I’ll be old an ancient before I take my degree.

    Wait a minute–maybe I’ll be a sage!

    Or something . . . .
