Since I was so unhappy with the way my post from Saturday turned out, I decided to try another take on the same kind of thing, but without color.  I also tried a couple of different techniques during construction and inking, most noticably the use of thinner lines overall, which I think helped the final product considerably.  I actually really like the way this one turned out.

    The way the hair is drawn makes me think of much of the pop-art styling used in 60′s videos, particularly the Beatles Yellow Submarine stuff. Just draw that in rainbow colors with colored pencils, and it’d be dead on.

    Thanks, Dave! I’m thinking about coloring this one via computer, so maybe I’ll try some rainbow colors in the hair and see how it looks.
