GTD does take some getting used to: the key is building a system you trust so you can brain dump all those tasks to do, open loops and stuck decisions. When I wrote MasterList Professional, I was strongly influenced by GTD, although MLP also adds to the mix the idea that how much value you get for your time directly impacts what level of success you attain in life (whatever "value" and "success" means to you.

At the risk of sounding too commercial, you might want to try my app for 45 days free and if it works for you, the cost ($24.95) should be a good value.

Well, Jay, click on that link right there and order it, ensuring I get me thirty cents or so. :)

There's a whole lot of info on the web about the system, and it's got a pretty fanatical following at this point. It might help you out quite a bit, actually, what with you being a project manager and all. The book might be a little tough to get through at first, from what I've heard--Dwight, maybe you can help on that point since I haven't started reading it yet--but the concepts seem to be really sound and helpful, especially once you get a system in place.

Dwight, have you started implementing any of the systems yet?

My biggest problem is lack of motivation, closely followed by lack of focus. I need this book.

I'm so with you on this. I received my PDA e-reader copy of it a few days ago and am in the midst of reading it, when I have time, which isn't often, because I'm disorganized.
